Intex Aura supplies and installs solid wood flooring in Dubai for villas, apartments, offices and commercial interiors. Every plank is milled from a single piece of natural timber, so your floor carries the natural beauty, rich grain and natural warmth that synthetic materials cannot replicate. Because solid wood can be sanded and refinished multiple times, it is one of the few floors that can last for generations. Our team handles everything from product selection and free site measurement to acclimatisation and professional installation, so your floor performs in Dubai’s climate and looks outstanding for decades.

Solid wood flooring is made from planks cut from one continuous piece of natural hardwood, typically 15 to 22mm thick, with a tongue-and-groove profile on each edge. Unlike engineered wood flooring, which bonds a real wood top layer to a plywood core, a solid plank is wood all the way through. That is what gives solid wood flooring its depth of colour, its authentic texture underfoot and its ability to be sanded back to fresh timber many times over its life.
Our collection covers the wood species most requested by homeowners and designers in Dubai, including oak, American walnut, teak, ash, mahogany and pine, in natural, brushed, oiled, smoked and lacquered finishes. Each species brings its own grain, tone and hardness, so we guide you to the one that suits your room, your lifestyle and your style of interior.
Trusted by leading brands, hotels and homeowners across Dubai and the Middle East.

Choosing the right wood species is the most important decision in any solid wood flooring project. Here is how the main options compare:
Dubai’s climate is the main reason proper installation is crucial for solid wood flooring. Timber naturally absorbs and releases moisture, so high outdoor humidity combined with air-conditioned interiors can cause solid wood to expand and contract. If this moisture movement is not properly managed, planks can cup, warp or gap.
We manage this in four ways. First, we test the subfloor moisture level before any installation starts. Second, the wood is acclimatised on site so it adjusts to your room’s conditions before fitting. Third, we leave the correct expansion gaps at walls and thresholds, hidden neatly under skirting. Fourth, we advise on climate control: keeping air conditioning running and indoor humidity stable, roughly between 40 and 60 percent, preserves the integrity of solid wood all year round.
For rooms where stable indoor conditions are hard to guarantee, such as a holiday home left closed through summer, or where you want underfloor heating, we usually recommend engineered wood flooring. Engineered wood offers a combination of real wood looks and extra stability, so it resists movement better in the UAE’s climate, and high-end engineered wood options closely mimic the appearance of solid wood.
Solid wood flooring is suitable for almost any dry residential or commercial interior:
Living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, staircases and majlis areas, including full villa flooring upgrades.
Bedrooms, living areas and home offices, with acoustic underlay where building rules require it.
Boardrooms, executive offices, boutique retail, hotels and restaurants, where real wood creates a premium first impression.
We install across Dubai, including Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills and Emirates Hills, as well as Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. We do not recommend solid wood for bathrooms, laundry rooms or other wet areas; for those, SPC flooring is one of the best solutions.
Our installers choose the method that suits your subfloor and your plank type:
Planks are fixed through the tongue onto a plywood subfloor or timber battens. This is the traditional method for solid wood and gives a firm, quiet floor.
Planks are bonded directly to a levelled concrete screed with a flexible wood flooring adhesive. This is the most common method in Dubai apartments and villas.
Suitable profiles are laid over an underlay without fixing to the subfloor, which can be useful over existing tiles where the height allows.
Whichever method we use, professional installation by trained craftsmen ensures high standards of craftsmanship, tight joints, correct expansion gaps and a smooth, level surface.
Solid wood flooring needs minimal maintenance to maintain its beauty:
A protective lacquer or oil coating is applied to every floor we install, which prevents scratches and stains from reaching the timber and keeps the surface easy to clean, adding to the longevity and long term durability of your floor.
Solid wood is not the only way to get a wooden flooring look. Here is how it compares with the other floors we install:
| Solid wood | Engineered wood | Parquet | Laminate | SPC | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Construction | One piece of natural timber | Real wood layer on a plywood core | Solid or engineered wood blocks in patterns | Photographic layer on HDF board | Stone-plastic composite core |
| Real wood surface | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Can be sanded and refinished | Multiple times | 1 to 3 times, depending on wear layer | Depends on construction | No | No |
| Stability in Dubai's climate | Good with climate control | Very good | Good to very good | Good | Excellent |
| Water resistance | Low | Low to moderate | Low to moderate | Moderate | Waterproof |
| Typical lifespan | 50+ years | 25 to 40 years | 25 to 50+ years | 15 to 25 years | 15 to 25 years |
| Best for | Luxury villas, majlis, executive offices | Most homes, underfloor heating | Statement rooms and hallways | Budget-conscious rentals | Kitchens, bathrooms, busy homes |
Choose solid wood flooring if you want the most authentic, longest-lasting real wood floor and can keep indoor conditions stable.
Choose engineered wood flooring if you want real wood with better climate stability or underfloor heating.
Choose parquet flooring if you want decorative herringbone, chevron or Versailles patterns as a focal point.
Choose laminate flooring or LVT flooring if you want a wood look on a tighter budget, and SPC flooring if the space is exposed to water.
